Puhjonranta is a course centre owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Kouvola. It is situated in the Valkeala municipality by the clear-watered lake Rapojärvi. We have accommodation and conference facilities for groups of all sizes and offer a diverse range of exercise opportunities from tennis to climbing. Naturally we also have good saunas at the beach.

Accommodation

Puhjonranta can house altogether ca. 150 people. The rooms are divided between six buildings. The room types vary, but all rooms are cosy. In some of the rooms there is a private bathroom, and in the common hall there is a fireplace, a cooker and a fridge.

Conferences

The largest of our conference facilities is the auditorium with 120 seats. In addition, there are classrooms, a meeting room, several fireplace rooms and group work spaces. We have modern audio-visual equipment in our conference facilities, including a video cannon. On the Puhjonranta area there is also a Lapland hut and barbecue shelters.

Also, the dining room can be used for conference purposes. It has 150 seats and can be divided into three parts. Each part can seat approximately 50 people.

 Meals

The modern kitchen in Puhjonranta can easily cater even for large groups. Dining can be arranged throughout the day and the meals are versatile and nourishing. The dining room has 150 seats and, when needed, can be divided into three parts which can each seat approx. 50 people.

 Sports

There are numerous sports opportunities in Puhjonranta. An orienteering map exists of the area and the closest swimming pool and gym are located at Valkeala (4 km) and Kouvola (14 km). The hiking trail that leads to northern Valkeala is only a little more than one kilometre away and the paddling route Väliväylä passes by our beach. In addition, we have a tennis court, a soccer field covered with sand and a climbing wall with the necessary equipment.

The saunas for the physically handicapped are located next to the accommodation buildings. There are two saunas by the beach ready for use throughout the year, and a third one for summertime. The beaches are good and in winter it is also possible to swim in a hole in the ice.
